Registered Nurses are medical professionals that are trained in various health services. They make up the biggest population in a hospital setting due to the wide array of health management and monitoring services they offer. They may be assigned to different healthcare facilities and can communicate with patients’ doctors for health updates. They may also supervise other care professionals in the team, like LPNs and CNAs as they perform their responsibilities, who in turn, may report to RNs in case of emergencies or sudden patient updates.
Here are some of Registered Nurses’ responsibilities:
- Maintaining detailed and accurate health records
- Monitoring and keeping track of health device readings
- Performing immunizations
- Administering medications and observing patients for side effects and other reactions
- Assisting in medical and treatment procedures
- Educating family members about their loved ones’ condition, treatment, and medications
- Performing vital sign checks
- Performing wound care and dressing
- And more
